Take the (Economic) Power Back
As a long time dancer, undercover economist and full time not-for-profit obsessive, Sarah started her sustainability journey when her dad told her that whilst he did not regret having her or her four siblings, he did regret that this was the world they would have to grow up in. Being the eldest, it seemed natural that this was something she needed to change.
Sarah is passionate about building resilience in businesses doing things differently to ensure that good people can have a long term impact in the world. Not wanting to be beaten by the system, she studied Economics and Arts, hoping for a well-rounded understanding of the way the world worked, but left disillusioned and confused. Thankfully, it turned out that these skills could be used as a force for good. Her keen interest in economics, governance and risk have helped her current organisation, GECA, achieve Best for the World in Governance two years in a row and allowed her to secure a role as Non-Executive Director and Company Secretary on the board of the Welcome Dinner Project.
Sarah's vision for the future is one of collaboration and adventure, where all people are able to share their passion and expertise with a truly connected, resilient, global community… and lots of fun thrown in!
